Abstract
The THSDM model creates a new way of thinking about sustainable development and business (either as a system or process) as a system of interaction among three different types of capital - ecological (our ecological ecosystem), financial (the way money works), and technological (how we use technology). This model fundamentally differs from the more linear approach to measuring ESG. Instead, the THSDM model posits that the factors of innovation, investment, and environmental restoration are continuously interdependent and will create new types of markets (through co-creative cycles) over time. THSDM proposes that the successful achievement of an ongoing sustainable market equilibrium will not occur through incremental improvement, but rather through the synchronization of all three types of capital to create a continual series of new systems for wealth and value creation. Therefore, THSDM is creating a blueprint for 21st-century commercial enterprises and economies that operate with resilience, circularity, and data-driven governance at their core.
