Biopesticide Production Using Turbinaria conoides Along with Gomutra

Abstract
The rice crop is susceptible to a number of diseases among which the Bacterial Leaf Blight of paddy caused by Xanthomonas oryzae. Gomutra (Cow Urine) has antimicrobial activity and also bio enhancing ability. Bio enhancers are substances which not possess drug activity of their own but promote and augment the bioactivity or bio availability or the uptake of drugs in combination therapy. Species of brown sea weed are well known to contain large amount of cell-well polysaccharides most of which are the sulfated polysaccharide, fucoidan which is not found in terrestrial plants. Turbinaria conoides has been used to cure children’s fever, fertilizer, insect repellent, pesticide and antibacterial compound. Phytochemical investigation of Brown alga revealed the presence of steroids, flavonoids and reducing sugars. as an important source of bioactive natural substance. It has some of the valuable medicinal value components such as antibiotics, antioxidant, anticoagulants, antiulcer products and suspending agents in radiological preparations. Kappaphycus alvarezii with cow urine (individually) were used against the BLB disease to inhibit the growth of Xanthomonas oryzae which is the causative agent of BLB. In this study is focussed by using Turbinaria conoides, and Kappaphycus alvarezii with cow urine (individually) were used against the BLB disease to inhibit the growth of Xanthomonas oryzae which is the causative agent of BLB.
